'Growth of a Tree'

The final solution is inspired by my message about growth and my artwork shows a tree going through its stages of life. The texture and shape were to show emotion. The final stage of the tree does not look calm, but it is more of a tree with jagged and straight lines and does not flow. I used orange and dark green colours as they are more of harsh colours. I prepared my surface with a station and made sure for a clear environment.

This links to similar artworks which show a tree going through each season to show change. I think for an audience it depends on perspective, but it shows personal upheaval which everyone can relate to, and I think you can understand the theme of change through a tree. I achieved my aim of creating an artwork that shows upheaval. Next time I would use the same printing frame each time and mark it on the paper to know the exact placement of the mat lined up. I would also make sure to take photos for my journal of the process along the way.

My end result is not exactly how I imagined because there were some issues with drawing on top of the lino print because it was not dry, and the face did not show up on the tree. I was inspired by Claude Monet because the way he created his artworks showed detail well and his paintings really show emotion. I was ethical in researching to only get inspiration and made sure what I came up did not take anyone鈥檚 exact artwork.
