Welcome to Good Shepherd Shane!
Welcome to Good Shepherd's Middle School Shane! Wonderful to have you on board - may your time here be extra special. Wishing you all the very best.
Hello, I’m Shane Rumbold. I’m the new Middle Years Curriculum Coordinator; looking after the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. It’s my first year at Good Shepherd and I already feel at home here in The Top End.
I was born and bred in Tasmania but I’m a lifelong lover of adventure. So, after completing my university studies, I spent nearly 20 years working at International Baccalaureate schools around the world including: Oman, Thailand, Vietnam, Angola and Tanzania. I’ve also worked in both government and Catholic schools in Tasmania.
I have teaching experience in Language & Literature, Individuals & Societies, Language Acquisition, Mathematics, Religious Studies and Drama. I have coordinated the Personal Project and Community Service. I have been Curriculum Coordinator in other IB schools around the world.
My extended family is in Tassie and my two grown-up kids live in Melbourne. My wife Prue and I have a feline fur-baby who is the real boss of the house. We came to Darwin for the warmer weather and new adventures, and we can’t wait to explore all that the Territory has to offer. When I’m not at work I love being in, or on, the water – sailing, kayaking, swimming and diving – and I look forward to doing most of those here! On dry land I relax by road-tripping, camping in our van, cooking and playing guitar.
If you see me around the school, please come and have a chat. I’m delighted to be a member of the Good Shepherd community and I’m excited to be a part of the school’s growth through 2023 and beyond.
