Getting Creative in Senior School
Creative Arts is the newest Arts subject at Good Shepherd. It offers students more of an ability to focus on practical work compared to Visual Arts which focusses on both practical and conceptual understandings of the Fine Arts world.
Creative Arts' students are working on their Practical Skills Folio; a series of six skill explorations, inspired by artists they have chosen to focus on and research in a practical sense. They have focussed on techniques, materials, and processes.
Students recently went on a 'senior study day' to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory to view other Creative Arts and Visual Arts' student Folios and Practical works from Year 12 2022.
Visual Arts' students are working on their Visual Study which is a visual and verbal essay written on an inquiry topic of their choice. Most students attend recess and lunch classes, Thursday after school classes or Saturday classes to work on their final artforms in a friendly and supportive environment
